System Integration
The IC695CMU310 installs into any slot on the RX3i universal backplane (except CPU slot) and communicates with the CPU via the high-speed VMEbus architecture. It is configured using GE’s Proficy Machine Edition software, where port settings, protocols, and message tables are defined. The module operates independently of the CPU scan cycle for reliable communication performance. Data exchange with the CPU is handled through memory mapping and logic instructions.
Environmental and Safety Compliance
- Designed in accordance with IEC/EN 61131-2 standards for programmable controllers
- Meets electromagnetic compatibility requirements per IEC/EN 61000-6-2 (industrial immunity) and IEC/EN 61000-6-4 (emissions)
- Suitable for industrial environments with protection against electrical noise, surges, and transient voltages
Maintenance and Support
The module requires no scheduled maintenance. Status LEDs and diagnostic registers enable quick identification of communication issues. Configuration changes and firmware updates are performed through standard engineering procedures using Proficy Machine Edition. Comprehensive documentation, wiring diagrams, and technical support are available through authorized GE automation partners and service networks.
