- Expansion of I/O Modules: As a 10-slot serial expansion backplane, it allows the installation of additional I/O modules, integrating more I/O devices into the control system. It can expand the main rack through an I/O expansion cable with a maximum length of 15 meters (50 feet).
- Connection to CPU Backplane: It is connected to the CPU backplane using an extension cable. Up to seven (7) serial expansion backplanes can be connected to the backplane carrying the CPU, as long as the cable length requirement is met. It can also be interconnected with various backplanes, such as the 5-slot backplane IC694CHS398 or the 90-30 series expansion backplane IC693CHS392.
- DIP Switch: It is equipped with a DIP switch for selecting the rack number. The switch needs to be set correctly before installing any module.
Application Scenarios:
- Manufacturing Industry: It can be used in flexible production lines. For example, in a 3C product assembly line, it can integrate vision inspection modules and servo drive modules to achieve closed-loop control of part positioning, defect recognition, and robot arm grasping.
- Energy Management: It can be used in smart grid systems. For instance, in a wind power pitch control system, it can collect wind speed sensor signals and drive the pitch motor to adjust the blade angle to optimize power generation efficiency.
- Process Control: It is suitable for chemical production processes. In a petroleum refining unit, through redundant configuration and safety certification, it can monitor the temperature and pressure of the reactor 24 hours a day. When the parameters exceed the limit, the system automatically triggers the emergency shut-off valve to avoid explosion accidents.
